Prepare for interview day

Remove avoidable logistics problems and plan a useful debrief afterwards.

Read the invitation closely

Confirm the date, time zone, format, location or meeting link and the materials the employer permits. Follow the invitation's rules about calculators, notes and outside assistance. If you need an adjustment or something is unclear, contact the recruiting team before the interview where possible. This checklist is a planning aid; it does not replace the employer's instructions.

Check your interview setup

For a remote conversation, test the device, sound, connection and meeting software. Keep the recruiter's contact details available in case the connection fails. For an in-person interview, confirm travel time and arrival instructions. Set out permitted materials and remove distractions so the opening minutes are about the conversation rather than your setup.

Review the essentials

Revisit the objective of a case opening, a few flexible behavioural stories and the questions you want to ask. Avoid exhausting yourself with unfamiliar material immediately beforehand. A short review should remind you how to think and communicate; it should not become a script you force onto every question.

Debrief while it is fresh

Afterwards, note the skills you were asked to show. Record where your reasoning was clear and where you lost time. Keep the notes at a skill level; do not reproduce confidential interview materials. Choose one useful change for the next round, then update the application stage and next action. An uncertain impression of the interview is not a confirmed outcome.
